The Agroforestry Family House (CFAF) and the Rural Family House of Igrapiúna (CFR-I), partners of the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation (FNO) in carrying out the PDCIS Social Program, were selected by Criança Esperança 2023. This is the third time that the two schools have won the Rede Globo award in partnership with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) – a recognition of the institutions’ potential to train young people who become true transformative leaders in rural Bahia.
Last Monday, 07, the Criança Esperança Show not only announced the selection of the two schools, but also showed the live participation of CFAF student Dalana Conceição, a young woman from the Areião community in Nilo Peçanha (BA). Presented by Ivete Sangalo and Marcos Mion, the program also had the presence of several celebrities and the interaction, on stage, of the young Dalana with actor Tony Ramos. Partnerships
In order to be selected from hundreds of other NGOs, the two Family Houses went through a rigorous selection process, with document analysis, due diligence, submission of an action project and several other steps. To this end, the Foundation’s support to CFAF, CFR-I and the other PDCIS institutions makes a difference: the FNO promotes institutional strengthening, empowering the teams that make up these organizations to carry out their work more efficiently and transparently.
The selection of projects supported by Criança Esperança also considers the contribution made by the initiatives to the achievement of rights described in the United Nations International Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA) and the connection of the projects with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
