Through a partnership with Odebrecht Energia in projects such as the Santo Antônio and Teles Pires Hydroelectric Power Plants in Brazil and the Chaglla Hydroelectric Plant in Peru, Alstom – global leader in infrastructure for energy generation and transmission and railroad transportation – extended its association with the Organization to join the Tribute to the Future program.
The company invested R$ 260,000 in the “Walking Paths” Project undertaken by the Rights and Citizenship Institute (IDC) in the municipality of Presidente Tancredo Neves, in Bahia’s Southern Lowlands. The program is monitored by Tribute to the Future through the Odebrecht Foundation.
On September 16, Jacqueline Takemasa, from the Corporate Responsibility and Communication area at Alstom, was in Bahia’s Southern Lowlands to learn more about the actions developed by “Walking Paths” and observe in practice the results achieved with the company’s support. “I could feel what the papers could not show,” said Takemasa.
She visited the Presidente Tancredo Neves (CFRPTN) Rural Family Home, learned more about the institution’s methodology and its agricultural units and heard a presentation on the projects Hit the Net and Reading Circles. Takemasa also spoke with the CFR-PTN youth.
“I left with an excellent impression of everything I saw and could see the significance of the projects and the benefits for the young participants,” she said. “The transformation that the initiatives promote in the lives of these adolescents is irreversible. I was happy to see that Alston supports something so serious and professional.”
According to Clóvis Faleiro, the professional responsible for Institutional Relations at the Odebrecht Foundation, Tribute to the Future allows the Organization’s companies and its strategic partners, suppliers and clients to share their principles and values, promoting Social Responsibility actions.
