In 2010, the campaign for Tribute to the Future – a program that supports the projects certified by the Odebrecht Foundation through income tax-deductible contributions – surpassed all of the expected results. The amount raised increased from R$ 2.374 million in 2009 to more than R$ 4.6 million and the participation of Members increased 135%, from 1,620 to 3,805 investors.

To achieve these results, the Tribute team undertook several different actions during the year that received the support of the Organization’s companies. In addition to the fact that the awareness raising process started earlier, during the first quarter of 2010, the launch of the new website in August also facilitated the interaction with Members.

According to Clovis Faleiro, the professional responsible for the program at the Odebrecht Foundation, the involvement of executives in the campaign was crucial for surpassing the expected results. “All of this ambience was possible because we are close to the leaders,” said Faleiro. “With the synergy between the companies and leaders, we were able to build a favorable environment for the participation of other investors,” he said.

Business Leaders Henrique Valladares, from Odebrecht Energia, Márcio Faria, from Odebrecht Engenharia Industrial, Benedicto Junior, from Odebrecht Infraestrutura, and Paul Altit, from Odebrecht Realizações Imobiliárias, mobilized the managing directors and contract directors and monitored the progress of the campaign at the companies on a weekly basis.

The collection of funds from companies also grew compared to the previous year, increasing from R$ 394,000 in 2009, to over R$ 1.3 million. The Tribute to the Future team expects to collect over R$ 30 million over the next four years with the support of Members and partner companies.
